Importance of English for Global Corporations
More and more global corporations are finding that their employers having a lack of English proficiency is having a huge impact on them in a lot of ways. The following are a few ways that a lack of English proficiency can affect a global corporation:
Decreased Productivity
– First of all, the lack of English proficiency among employees of a global corporation can actually decrease the productivity of the company. It will take longer to process improvements, the communication with the home office will become extremely frustrating, and it will also be difficult to implement the best standards and the best practices for productivity as well.
Lost Opportunities
– Lack of English proficiency can also lead to lost opportunities. Those who are on the sales force will deal with problems that may cause problems with their performance. Also, customer satisfaction may suffer as well because people will not be able to provide them the best customer service. Due to communication problems project teams may not be able to deliver on time as well.
Managing Challenges
– The skills within the company will become less portable, it will be challenging to get local talent for roles that are global as well.
