It is important to learn to read English and have that knowledge as a foundation, if you are looking to learn to speak the English language fluently. Of course, that is much easier said than done, as many people who have had to learn to read English for themselves will say. But there is something to be said for those who decide that they want to learn later on in life. It takes a certain type of dedication and tenacity for adults to learn the English language. Kids are adaptive but adults must work just a little bit harder. In the end, it makes for a better life and is all worth it.
When a person wants to become more fluent in the English language, deciding to learn to read English is the logical first step. After all, reading is how most American children learn English in the first place, so it is only befitting that other people learn that way as well.
